Highlight of the week- new lab coat that is exactly my size. Its sooooooooo white that I've considered wearing sunglasses. I might even get my name embroidered on it.
Other high points- last day of classes and lab instrument is up and running.
Weekend plans- grading, grant writing, labbing, surfing (If I fix my surf board), trail running.

You can't get your name on your lab coat. Then when you're trying to recruit graduate students, they'll think you actually spend time in the lab. And they'll be scared.
True, true... especially since I NEED students to work in my lab. I can't afford to scare them off. I officially have ONE piece of analytical equipment- a gas chromatograph. Now I just need project funding and student help!
