Trying something new

Today Sideburnz and I tried surfing before work. The surf was pretty good- we're into summer now, so we can expect 3-5' waves at Waikiki (south shore) on a regular basis. I'm just getting comfortable with "bigger" waves. Before, I was definitely a 1-3' girl. I don't have a lot of options now- its surf with the big kids on the big waves or hang out in the "kiddy pool" where the waves break a 2nd time, lots smaller and weaker, with all the tourists and lesson instructors. We definitely had a good time. Sideburnz is well on his way to being a surfing pro, and I caught my first wave * before it broke *. Normally, I surf what's called the white water... The wave breaks, I start paddling, and the white foaming part of the wave will push me so I can stand up. The big kids ride down the face of the wave right before its breaking. I rode down the face of a wave today. I'm almost a big kid.

So back to our prework surfing experience... So far, so good, almost. Sideburnz got home, changed clothes and left ahead of schedule. I managed to shower, get something to eat, and now I'm sucked in to The View and the interweb. This is going to have to change if I am going to get work done. I'll give myself to 10am. Then its work time.
